USF Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires newcomer Louka St-Jean competed in his second round of the USF Pro Championships ladder program this past weekend at the famed Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Continuing to improve and gain experience with each passing lap, St-Jean earned a pair of top-ten finishes.
Switching from the USF2000 program to the USF Pro 2000 ranks halfway through 2023 was risky for the young Canadian, but his stunning results seem to be paying off. In just his second go around in the series, St-Jean claimed two seventh-place finishes at Mid-Ohio, an improvement on his first official outing with the Turn 3 Motorsport team at Road America.
“There’s always a hesitancy when you’re making a move mid-season,” explains St-Jean. “But after this weekend I’m very confident in the car and the team. We’re going to keep lighting a fire under the seats of the competitors ahead of us. I think we’re going to have a very positive rest of the season.”
Qualifying 11th for race one and eighth for race two, St-Jean made a total of five passes to score his two top-ten results this weekend, his best finish yet in only his four USF Pro 2000 starts this season.
Although St-Jean will be out of the championship running with only three race events left in the season, he’s eager to take his place on that top step on the podium.
St Jean added, “I’m very happy with the results this weekend, but we still have work to do. We’re coming up on my home race in Canada in less than two weeks so I’m going to use my current momentum and the fact that I’ll have all my friends and family around me in Toronto to my advantage. Nothing would be better than being on a podium in my home country.”

Louka St-Jean’s next race will take him back home on Canadian soil running on the Streets of Toronto July 14th through the 16th alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. This will be Louka’s third round of the USF Pro 2000 Championship present by Cooper Tire series but is the seventh of nine total rounds in the 2023 season.

Louka St-Jean réalise deux résultats dans le top dix au Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

Le 3 juillet 2023 – Louka St-Jean, nouveau venu dans le championnat USF Pro 2000 présenté par Cooper Tires, a participé à sa deuxième manche du programme USF Pro Championships le week-end dernier sur le célèbre circuit Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. En continuant de s’améliorer et de gagner en expérience à chaque tour de piste, St-Jean a obtenu deux top dix.
Passer du programme USF2000 au programme USF Pro 2000 à mi-saison était risqué pour le jeune Québécois, mais ses résultats impressionnants semblent porter fruit. Lors de seulement sa deuxième participation dans la série, St-Jean a décroché deux septièmes places à Mid-Ohio, une amélioration par rapport à sa première sortie officielle avec l’équipe Turn 3 Motorsport à Road America.
« Il y a toujours une certaine hésitation lorsque vous faites un changement en cours de saison », explique St-Jean. « Mais après ce week-end, je suis très confiant avec la voiture et l’équipe. Nous allons continuer à pousser et à mettre la pression sur nos concurrents. Je pense que nous aurons une fin de saison très positive. » En se qualifiant 11e pour la première course et 8e pour la deuxième course, St-Jean a réalisé un total de cinq dépassements pour obtenir ses deux résultats dans le top dix ce week-end, sa meilleure performance en seulement quatre départs en USF Pro 2000 cette saison.
Bien que St-Jean ne soit plus en lice pour le championnat, avec seulement trois épreuves restantes dans la saison, il est impatient de se hisser sur la plus haute marche du podium.
St-Jean ajoute : « Je suis très satisfait des résultats de ce week-end, mais nous avons encore du travail à faire. Nous nous approchons de ma course à domicile au Canada dans moins de deux semaines, donc je vais utiliser mon élan actuel et le fait d’avoir tous mes amis et ma famille près de moi à Toronto à mon avantage. Rien ne serait mieux que de monter sur un podium chez moi dans mon pays. »

La prochaine course de Louka St-Jean le ramènera chez lui, sur le sol canadien, en marge des rues de Toronto du 14 au 16 juillet, aux côtés de la série NTT INDYCAR. Bien que ce sera la troisième manche pour Louka en USF Pro 2000, ce sera en réalité la septième des neuf épreuves de la saison 2023 du championnat USF Pro 2000 présenté par Cooper Tire.
